Ivonne has been practicing general dentistry for seventeen years and in 2005 opened The TMD/Orofacial Pain and Sleep Disorder Clinic at Summit Dental. Her practice is primarily focused on the diagnosis and treatment of temporomandibular joint disorders (TMD), orofacial pain (head and neck) and sleep breathing disorders. Along with her practice, Dr. Hernández fulfills her schedule with teaching responsibilities at the University of Alberta and lectures for health clinicians in the community.

Dr. Hernández completed her Master of Science Degree and Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree, along with a two year residency Program in Temporomandibular Disorders and Orofacial Pain, at the University of Alberta. In addition, Dr. Hernández is a member of the International Academy for the Study of Pain, the American Academy of Orofacial Pain, the Canadian Pain Society, and the Canadian and Alberta Dental College.
